WELCOME TO RECIPES FOR REGULAR FOLKS!

Let me start by reminding everyone that the recipes that will be posted on this site ARE NOT considered "health- conscious"!!!  This site will be filled with good, old fashioned, stick to your ribs, comfort food recipes.  The types of recipes that have been handed down over generations and never fail to to make you say, "YUMMM!"  The kinds of meals that put a smile on your face and bring to mind dinners with your grandparents when you were little.  Recipes that are made with food that you can find in your pantry and not in a specialty store.  Food is an integral part of life, and often the smell or the taste of certain meals will bring back your favorite memories.  THOSE are the kinds of recipes you will find here.

I am an avid baker and LOVE trying new recipes.  I tend to share my "creations" with family and friends - making them be my guinea pigs so to speak.  I do baking (cookies, candies, gourmet filled cupcakes, caramel corn, etc.) as a side business, so I am ALWAYS in the kitchen.  People started asking me for recipes and even suggested I put my most used recipes in a book.  This led led me to begin a facebook page by the name "Recipesforregularfolks".  The page reached nearly 150 followers pretty quickly, and I soon realized that it wasn't providing us the opportunity to view recipes more than a few months at a time.  Hopefully this blog will allow us to access any recipe at ANY time!

To me, cooking is an act of love, providing something wonderful from your heart, made with your own hands.  I am the mother of three wonderful kiddos, and cooking has become something that I love to share with my kids.  My youngest (currently 2 years old) asks to "bake" every day - LITERALLY.  And nothing beats the smile on his face when his Daddy tastes one of his newest creations and declares it the "best he ever had"!
So, if you're looking for some new ideas for dinner, you aren't a calorie counter, you LOVE home cooked comfort foods, and maybe even some crazy new recipes that you have never even IMAGINED (bacon cookies anyone?), please feel free to join the fun!  But if you do, I expect you to be willing to share your favorite recipes as well!  Just consider this a big, giant recipe swap!  A reference for all of us when we are trying to find something new to bring to the table that will make our family want to sit down, stop texting, turn off the TV, and enjoy some quality family time!  Recipes can be emailed to me at clapperkidsmom@gmail.com and I will post them here for everyone to share.

Welcome to Recipes for Regular Folks!  CHOW DOWN!
