INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2 in slices
8 slices sourdough bread (3/4 in thick)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 C milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 Tbl butter
DIRECTIONS:
1. Arrange cheese on four slices of bread to within 1/2 in of edges. Top with remaining bread.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
3. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture.
4. Melt 1 Tbl butter in a large skillet. Add two sandwiches and toast over medium heat for 4 to 5 mins on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
5. Repeat with remaining sandwiches and butter
6. Serve with tomato sauce for dipping.
